Character Advancement

Stack o Cookies

Experience is awarded in cookies. A character must be present during a session to be eligible for experience awards.

Basic expectation per session is:

Participation: Player must participate.

Chronicle: Must give a chronicle of events in the session, does not have to be comprehensive. More than one player can chronicle the same session. I will publish it to the page for your character.

GM may sometimes offer cookies in other flavors also:

MCR/MVP: IF made available, it is usually awarded by players' vote in-game, at the end of session only. MCR might be for rolling triple effect, maximum damage, or any success at a critical moment. MVP might be for conceiving an excellent plan or great insight, or having the most useful talent.

GMM: Make progress on a GM-inflicted Mystery.

Cookies accumulate in your jar, and may be exchanged for Attribute points (snacking) between sessions. Players are not required to use the fun metaphorical terminology.

Your first cookie snack gives you an Attribute point. You next snack must be two cookies, for which you gain another Attribute point. Attribute gained points from snacking may be exchanged 1:3 for talent points by feasting. IQ points purchased include a talent point. Attribute points from a character's initial pool may not be exchanged for talents.

Track cookies and exchanges in your Journal!
This is an example of tracking Cookies:

Cookies in your jar: 1
Feasts you have had: 1 (each is added to your Attribute point total for determining how many cookies you need for your next snack)

Miscellaneous Awards

There are rewards other than cookies: Hirelings, Animals, Contacts (relationships), Access to spells or restricted talents, Food, Items, Fame, Reputation (GM tracks this hidden value based on your deeds), Social position.

Afflictions

Not all awards are helpful. You may find you have an antagonist if circumstances warrant it. Antagonists can be rivals or enemies. Enemies are murderous. Rivals merely desire to thwart and humiliate. If an antagonist crashes your party, they will enter at the worst possible time. Be wary of offending the Gods, for they too can become antagonists.

Under Construction

You may choose to use a cookie from your jar mid-session instead of snacking on it later. Let me know what you think. Uses I am considering are:
